A thesis is an academic research completed by a bachelor degree candidate in support of his or her candidature for an academic degree or professional qualification. This is also a mandatory requirement for single or double degree students from KAMK. In this document, the author will present his or her research and findings. This is one of the most significant, if not the most significant piece of work for a bachelor degree candidate to demonstrate his or her knowledge in his or her chosen field of studies, and it serves as a contribution to human knowledge, useful to other scholars and also more general audiences to better understand the topics of his or her interests.

The typical time frame is approx. 3 man-months (full time). The thesis in KAMK is worth 15 ECTS (about 400 hours of work). So, if you are working on this initiative along with other studies, please ensure you plan sufficient time to complete the task.

It is the student's responsibility to ensure he or she fulfils all the requirements stipulated by KAMK to accomplish the task. So, the student should read the instructions stipulated in KAMK's website carefully, and ensure all the required steps are completed successfully.

The student is required to work with few teachers to accomplish this significant piece of work. He or she should work with the subject supervisor, the statistic teacher if a quantitative study is undertaken (for data collection and analysis), the research teacher (for the methodological section) and the English teacher.

At the moment, the following teachers are responsible in the different areas:

1. Ruey Komulainen - subject supervisor (Marketing and Management), the appointment is done by the thesis coordinator, Mr. Sami Malm

2. Simo Määttä / Ari Teirilä or other assigned teachers for methodology guidance

This resource area aims to help thesis students with the different stages of his or her thesis. There are many supplemental resources to supplement the formal resources provided in KAMK's website.
